ABServo Tower of the Americas
|
The top of the tower itself. Believe it or not, this shot was taken from the Riverwalk. All the other shots on this page were taken from the observation deck. |
This is the Fairmount Hotel, one of the nicest and most historic hotels in town. Originally located on what is now Rivercenter Mall, it was moved (piece by piece) to its current location so that construction on the present-day Mariott Rivercenter could begin. |
A closer look at the Fairmount. I've never stayed there myself; too pricey for me! Just the same, it's still nice to look at! |
I took a picture of this hotel, thinking it was the Holiday Inn Express I was staying at. Come to find out, it's actually the Mariott-Plaza hotel. Just the same, what a nice place! |
A closer look at the Mariott-Plaza. |
Zoom in to the area behind the hotel. The old houses in the background are part of the historic King William district. It's a nice place to take a drive! |
Further south is the Pioneer/White Wings flour plant. A zoom lens is a nice thing, isn't it? |
A closer look at the flour plant. I don't know what you'd call that style of architecture; but I still think it looks cool! |
This is the Institute of Texan Cultures. We visited this museum a couple of times on school field trips. It's an interesting place to learn about all the cultures that made Texas what it is today. |
A closer look at the museum. |
I spotted this fountain outside a corner of the Alamodome. I zoomed in as close as I could; luckily, the Alamodome is just on the other side of I-37, so I was able to get this shot. |
Same shot, resized differently, to give an even closer look at the fountain. |
